Our work begins only when yours has been overpaid. We're paid solely on what we recover for you — never up front.

— The Lefkowitz Group

We sit on the same side of the table as our clients. Every engagement runs on contingency: you pay us nothing up front, and we are paid only out of what we recover. That alignment is what lets a CFO or general counsel pick up the phone with us in the first place.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Who qualifies for an IEEPA refund?

U.S. importers of record who paid IEEPA-classified duties on entries in 2025 or 2026 may qualify. As a baseline, we focus on companies with at least $1.5M in annual goods imported from China or $3M from any other country, where IEEPA, Section 301, or reciprocal-tariff codes appeared on entry summaries.

What types of duties are eligible?

IEEPA-based duties are the primary focus, including the China-related IEEPA tariffs and reciprocal duties imposed in 2025–2026. Section 122 and pre-IEEPA Section 301 duties are evaluated separately on a case-by-case basis.

How much could my refund be?

Refund size depends on entry-level facts: HTS codes, country of origin, total entered value, and which IEEPA-specific duties were assessed. Recoveries we have seen range from low six figures to several million dollars. We provide a written estimate after reviewing your ACE and broker records.

How long does the recovery process take?

From signed engagement to filed protest is typically four to eight weeks. CBP processing of approved protests can take an additional several months. We track every entry's 180-day deadline so nothing is lost to a missed window.

Is this legitimate?

Yes. Recovery is grounded in the CBP protest mechanism (19 U.S.C. § 1514) and the recent Court of International Trade rulings opening the IEEPA refund pathway. The Lefkowitz Group is an asset and revenue recovery firm; filings are handled by our trade-counsel partners and licensed customs brokers.

What documents do you need from us?

The minimum starting point is your ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) data and broker entry summaries for 2025–2026. We sign a mutual NDA before any data is shared.

How is confidentiality handled?

Mutual NDA at intake, before any data is exchanged. Your entry data is reviewed by our recovery team and the trade-counsel partners working on your engagement only — never disclosed externally without your written authorization.

What happens after the 15-minute intake call?

We follow up with a written eligibility memo. If we both want to proceed, our trade-counsel partners send an engagement letter, and we begin the entry-level review. There is no fee unless we recover a refund for you.
